Holland Project

Challenge

This unique design for the Reno-based, art initiative focused on capturing the attention of the local youth as well as the rest of the contemporary art scene. Site needed to be both easily managed and updateable through the integration of the Jooma Content Mangement System. A Noble Studios pro-bono project for the community, the website was commissioned for both the help to the community as well as the great opportunity for an edgy design.

Tactics

The style was heavily influenced by existing Holland Project design elements, but endeavored to brand the initiative as a whole, as each previous artistic attempt to create a face for Holland was disparate at best: to that end, a simple, yet edgy style utilizing vivid colors and cartoon iconography was employed. Upon design approval, a page template was created for Joomla for easy content management.

Results

The Holland website was met with extensive commendation, receiving instant praise from coordinators Brittany Curtis and Heather Fuss. Succeeding admirably with the style, the site also serves as a repository/portal for the vast quantity of Holland information, from a thorough community-calendar to a photo gallery and blog.

“Noble Studios came through amazingly, creating a site that not only captured the energy, creativity and whimsy behind Holland, but one that contained all the important information, was easy to maneuver, and lived up the incredibly high standards of our teens and artists. They’ve been wonderful to work with and delivered a site we’re very proud of.”
