Project Digital Cities

Challenge

A ‘digital city’ is a collaborative environment created around a detailed 3D model that allows stakeholders from the public, city government, construction, and business communities to work together in a way that is both engaging and meaningful to understand how policy and proposals could impact the urban environment by experiencing the future of the city before it becomes real.

Tactics

  • Streaming, Interactive Flash Presentation, self-guiding
  • Unprecedented interactivity/realism achieved via Actionscripting, image-swapping, rollovers, and simple UI details.
  • Actionscript 2.0 framework, comprised of hundreds of interactive renders.
  • Highly detailed software involvement.

Results

Digital Cities went on to receive company-wide praise at Autodesk, becoming the highlight of the 2007 Autodesk University held in Las Vegas. Combined with the power of Perspective Pixel touchscreens, Digital Cities seems only poised to become a standard of future software archetypes.

“[The] team at Noble Studios has surpassed my expectations on several projects in the past year. [They] always quickly respond with an enthusiastic and creative attitude. The deliverables have been top notch and the process is always a pleasure. Based on my experiences I have recommended Noble Studios to several associates here at Autodesk and have seen similar levels of dedication, value, and production quality in every case.”
