Need a fierce competitor on your side? Shawn Winquest is your guy. As Senior Performance Marketing Manager, Shawn knows that a performance marketer has to commit to understanding the business of their client, inside and out, as well as the disciplines — both emerging and traditional — to find the most optimal path to winning. 

Shawn believes a solid marketing plan is critical to a client’s success. The most exciting part for him is the discovery process, getting to know a business, mapping their journey and figuring out the direction they need to go. He believes an agency should serve as a client’s compass, and believes that helping them see the forest through the trees is crucial.

Shawn was born in Omaha, Nebraska, lived in Gainesville, Florida and went to high school in Santa Barbara, California, which makes him a self-proclaimed “OmaFlornian.” He studied Screenwriting and Film Production at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, a foundation that gave him all the right tools for crafting a narrative. Storytelling, after all, is an integral part of brand and product marketing. 

He began his career with an interactive agency in Santa Monica, where he optimized digital media campaigns. He also has worked as a media strategist, planner and buyer for full service digital shops in Los Angeles and San Francisco, culminating in a director role at Carat, where he directed a digital media team on strategy, planning and buying within an integrated account structure. Clients included Adidas, Tourism Australia, Jenny Craig and more. He also served as Global Digital Campaign Manager for Sonos. 

In the time since, he’s managed and bought more than $50 million in paid media and services, for global and boutique ad agencies, big and small brands, and he managed the launch and profit/loss of eCommerce businesses. These experiences have shown him what it’s like to own the success or failure of a business. It has also shown him that success is not always chronological, and that the Noble Studios motto “Let’s Be Better Every Day” is the right approach when it comes to performance marketing. 

Outside of work, Shawn loves to get outside. Although he loves any activity that taps into his competitive side, he particularly enjoys soccer — which he played in high school and college — volleyball, tennis, snowboarding and mountain biking. He’s also quite the triple threat: in addition to his sporting talents, he enjoys playing piano and writing fiction. His favorite ‘80s band is Winger, but we definitely won’t hold that against him! After all, he was probably only 17 when they were huge.
