Ring in a New (and Noble) Tradition #FirThePlanet

The holiday season is finally upon us! Before indulging in the joys of eggnog, mistletoe, twinkling lights and so much more, we asked ourselves: how can we be better this holiday season?

We discovered two huge things:

  • 20-30 million trees will be chopped down this holiday season.
  • Our laptops release 44kg of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.

That’s millions of trees cut down each year that absorb CO2 that our laptops, computers and other devices we use every day put into the atmosphere. And we want to do something about it.

Together, we can be better every (holi)day and start a new tradition that will leave the world better than we found it by planting Noble fir seeds to offset carbon emissions.

How to Plant Your Noble Fir Seeds

  1. Find a permanent spot with average sunlight exposure and moist, acidic soil.
  2. Plant and cover your seeds ½ inch deep in the soil.
  3. Water regularly.

Note: Germination should occur within a few weeks. Full growth potential will vary based on your location. Noble firs grow best between 1,000 – 5,000 feet in elevation in cool, moist climates. As the largest native fir in the U.S. known for its classic look and sturdy branches perfect for decorating, it’s the most popular type of tree chopped down each holiday season.

We’ve also got some pro-tips to share in order to effectively germinate your Noble fir seeds:

  1. Soak your seeds in water for 24 hours.
  2. Drain away any excess water and place your seeds in the freezer for 6-8 weeks.
  3. Remove your seeds from the freezer, and follow the same steps above.

Voila! You just helped offset CO2 emissions.

How to Plant Your Seedling

Pine trees are hardy and can withstand cold winter weather, just like the Noble fir. Your pine tree seedling should be placed in shaded sunlight and be watered regularly so the soil remains moist at all times.

50+ Wild Bears Planting Seeds
2K+ Noble Fir Seeds Sent Out
60K+ Potential CO2 Emissions Absorbed

We gave each of our Wild Bears their own Noble fir seeds to plant to help offset our carbon emissions. We also sent seeds and seedlings to our clients, partners and friends around the world.

For every tree that’s planted, approximately 30kg of CO2 is eliminated from the atmosphere. If we each do our part, we could offset over 60,000kg of CO2 from the atmosphere for a truly un-fir-gettable holiday season.

Noble Studios thanks you for joining our new (and Noble) tradition. We’re looking forward to growing deeper roots with you in 2020!
