Web Developer Nick Finney loves sports so much that when he completes a task or does something cool, he’s been known to turn on his “sports announcer voice,” narrating it like a play-by-play call. It’s a quirk that makes him the perfect fit for Noble Studios.
His day-to-day responsibilities include supporting the Technical Services department, maintaining client websites, particularly for our higher education clients, and applying development and analytical skills to tackle any issue that comes his way.
A Reno native, Nick earned his B.S. in Information Systems at the University of Nevada, Reno. He fell in love with web development after taking a few classes and realizing that it felt more like a “daily activity” than a job.
Prior to working at Noble, Nick served in the control room of the Reno Aces, bringing him together with his love of baseball. From there, he served as a web developer for Caesars Entertainment (now Eldorado Resorts), specializing in Drupal development.
He calls Noble “an awesome company” and the perfect place to hone and perfect his skills as a developer. Now, that’s a Be-Better attitude!
Outside of work, he is a massive San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan. He also enjoys hiking and going for daily walks with his wife and their 90-pound Australian Shepherd/Rottweiler mix. About his dog, he says, “We were told both parents were under 50 pounds. Don’t think that was true.”
An avid traveler, Nick has seen more of Europe than the United States. He played baseball in his youth, even carrying the sport into his first year of college, where he learned the value of teamwork, on and off the field.
Come fall, you can find Nick dabbling in Fantasy Football, where he usually finishes in the top three in his league. In fact, he won enough money playing in 2018 to afford a downpayment and remodel of his first house. Nick also enjoys dominating friends at Scrabble, something he picked up after mastering the online game Words With Friends.
