Senior Brand & Communications Strategist

Apply Now

Noble is looking for an experienced Senior Brand & Communications Strategist who can get to the heart of a business challenge, find meaning in the mess and turn what they discover into clear, compelling brand and communication strategies that inspire great creative work, connect people and make marketing more effective — moving people and the needle all at once.

Working closely with our VP of Strategy & Insights, you’ll operate at the intersection of brand, creative, media, performance and technology. You’ll have the independence to lead strategic engagements, from discovery and research through strategic recommendations and creative briefing. You’ll dive into client businesses, ask smarter questions, challenge assumptions and connect dots others might miss. You’ll distill what you learn and craft brand and communication strategies that inspire our teams and give clients a clearer path toward their business goals.

You’ll see the bigger picture without losing sight of the details. You’ll be comfortable navigating ambiguity, bringing clarity to complexity and making a compelling case for your thinking. And because great strategy doesn’t end with a presentation, you’ll stay involved, challenging and inspiring our teams to make the work even better.

Our rallying cry is “Let’s Be Better Every Day,” and we mean it. We believe in leading with good intent, making meaningful connections, taking ownership and empowering the people around us. We’re looking for someone who shares those beliefs and brings the curiosity, conviction and collaborative spirit to help us live them every day.

Who You Are

You’re a creative thinker who loves making sense of the world. Naturally curious and quick to learn, you ask questions, see patterns everywhere and follow rabbit holes to find truth in unexpected places. You’re fascinated by people, what makes them tick and the culture, history, psychology, sociology and all the other “ologies” that shape us. You’re comfortable with numbers, data and research because you know there’s meaning buried somewhere in the noise. You care about writing and words and arguing over the nuances between words. You aren’t afraid to be wrong, you’re easy to talk to and you live in possibilities.

If this sounds like you, then welcome, friend.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead day-to-day strategy for assigned client engagements, from discovery and research through insight development, strategic recommendations and creative briefing, in collaboration with the VP of Strategy & Insights.
  • Uncover bold, creative ideas and frame strategic opportunities that inspire Noble’s creative, media and performance teams to do their best work.
  • Lead client discovery to understand the business, its audiences and competitive landscape, then distill and present the insights that unlock creative and commercial growth.
  • Build trusted client relationships to become an indispensable strategic partner.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop compelling creative and strategic briefs.
  • Bring forward strategies, ideas, thoughts, musings, processes, rabbit holes and wormholes that have the potential to make Noble, our clients and our work better.
  • Partner with Noble’s business development team on RFP responses, new business proposals and client renewals, including pitching in person and remotely.
  • Guide primary research initiatives, collaborating with research partners when appropriate. Conduct secondary brand, consumer and competitive research, lead stakeholder interviews and facilitate brand workshops, turning findings into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Lead the development of compelling brand platforms.
  • Support the creative team throughout development, providing ongoing strategic perspective, input and guidance.
  • Bring strong creative instincts and a point of view on what makes ideas distinctive, culturally relevant and effective.
  • Push Noble’s teams, our clients and the work forward by bringing energy, ideas, support and inspiration to every collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in brand, creative or communication strategy, preferably within an advertising or integrated marketing agency. Experience in B2B, enterprise, technology or startup industries is of particular interest, though not required.
  • A portfolio demonstrating your strategic process or framework(s), strategic outputs or creative briefs you have authored and insights that drove the final creative execution with any measurable outcomes you may have.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. The ability to produce sharp, smart and persuasive writing is non-negotiable.
  • Ability to synthesize data, identify patterns, connect ideas and develop tailored approaches to complex client and business challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to earn the trust and respect of high-performing leaders, both inside and outside the agency.
  • Proficiency in the Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, as well as experience using AI tools and systems (and an informed perspective on the use of AI in marketing strategy).
  • Experience  with a broad range of research tools and methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to create clear, compelling and polished client-ready presentations and deliverables.
  • Creative judgment and an understanding of how strategy translates into distinctive, effective creative ideas and experiences.
  • A strong collaborative spirit, with the confidence and initiative to work independently.
  • A belief that great strategy is in service of great work, and that serving the creative, media and performance teams you collaborate with matters just as much as serving clients.
