Outranking the Competition: The Power of a Strong SEO Strategy
A global leader in account verification, data aggregation and analytics for financial institutions and fintech was struggling with organic search visibility against larger competitors. Noble Studios used our Creative Digital Performance method to boost their rankings through SEO, content restructuring and UX enhancements.
Repositioning Through SEO
The client was getting lost in the competition. Despite being a pioneer in financial data services, they lacked an effective Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy, resulting in low organic traffic and poor conversion rates while being overshadowed by competitors. They were missing critical opportunities to capture low-funnel traffic, which impacted their ability to convert leads and grow their sales pipeline.
Three Challenges
The client lacked an effective SEO strategy, resulting in poor visibility in search results for key industry terms.
Major competitors dominated critical search terms, significantly impacting the client’s market share.
Inside-out product marketing wasn’t resonating with how customers were actually searching for solutions, creating confusion around product offerings.

Our Approach to Building Authority Through Topic Clustering
The leading fintech and data aggregation company lacked a structured SEO strategy and misaligned messaging was preventing the company from standing out from the competition. Noble Studios got to work developing a comprehensive search intent-based that centered on topic clustering. We focused on SEO, UX and content strategy to reframe how the company connects with their audience in terms of both visibility and engagement. We did this in three different ways:
Search Intent as a Foundation: The SEO approach was designed around search intent, not just keyword rankings. This allowed the client to capture high-value, low-funnel traffic with higher conversion potential.
Topic Clustering: The SEO strategy revolved around creating topic clusters, a more organized and efficient way to dominate search results for broader, competitive topics like “account verification” and “data aggregation.”
Integrated Search Approach: By combining SEM and SEO efforts, Noble ensured the leading data aggregation company could target competitive terms both organically and through paid search while building long-term authority in these areas.
Setting Up the Client for Long-Term Success
Rebranding and Simplified Messaging
The client’s product names weren’t resonating with customer search intent. Noble Studios recommended rebranding these products with clear, descriptive names based on what users were searching for. This was a major shift for the fintech leader but essential to improving organic visibility and customer comprehension.
Training and Long-Term Adoption
Noble worked closely with the client’s internal team to ensure that everyone—from executives to content managers—understood the thought process behind the SEO strategy and was on board with implementing it long-term. This included conducting trainings where key stakeholders were educated on the benefits of topic clustering and on how to maintain the SEO strategy to ensure continued success.
A Data-Driven SEO Approach
Noble Studios transformed the company’s digital marketing by implementing a scalable SEO strategy based on search intent and topic clustering. This approach not only improved organic rankings and market share but also built an internal framework that the client can continue to scale and adapt to new product launches. The combination of SEO and SEM created a cohesive digital experience that allowed the leader in data aggregation to grow its pipeline and gain a competitive edge.
Creating a Strategic UX to Support our Topic Clustering Model
In addition to creating a cohesive SEO and SEM approach, a UX overhaul of the client’s website was also key to their success. After conducting in-depth keyword research to identify more than 500 keyword opportunities, the site’s navigation and structure were redesigned to be more user-friendly and better suited for search engine indexing. This change ensured that users could easily find the content they needed and that search engines could properly index the site.
Results that Speak for Themselves
The client’s leadership was thrilled with the results. Their internal teams were fully integrated into the SEO process and adopted search intent and topic clustering as core elements of their marketing strategy. The CMO’s ability to explain the new strategy to internal stakeholders further solidified the partnership’s success. Take a look at some of the specific results:
Market Share Gains: The leading fintech company saw significant improvements in market share for critical product areas like ACH payments, where competitors previously dominated.
Minimal Traffic Drop: After the site relaunch, the client experienced only a brief decline in traffic before seeing sustained growth. This is unusual for large-scale site migrations and indicates the success of the pre-launch SEO planning.
Conversion Rate Improvement: Aligning content with search intent significantly increased conversion rates from organic traffic, contributing to a stronger sales pipeline.
Pipeline Growth: Organic search became the top contributor to their sales pipeline for three consecutive years.
Executive Buy-In: The success of the SEO strategy resulted in long-term executive support, with the CMO personally championing the topic clustering approach within the company.
