Best of Show and Judge’s Choice: Recapping the 2026 Reno ADDYs

A collage of photos from the 2026 Reno ADDY Awards showing Noble Studios team members in meme-inspired costumes, four gold and judge's choice trophies on a granite table, and inflatable T-Rex costumes at the "404: Not Boring" gala.

From the “Yo Dawg” meta-meme to a pack of colorful inflatable T-Rexes roaming the floor, the internet’s favorite inside jokes provided the backdrop for a night that traded corporate stuffiness for digital chaos.

Surprisingly, not a single floating dumpster fire was in sight.

The 2026 American Advertising Awards for the Reno AAF chapter reminded everyone why this industry thrives on disruption. Using a “404: Not Boring” theme, the event focused on the creative minds who refuse to fade into the background.

The energy was high as teams gathered to celebrate the bold ideas and sharp strategies that defined the past year of work. For Noble Studios, the night was particularly memorable, as two of our favorite campaigns earned top honors with a Judge’s Choice and the coveted Best of Show.

A Night of Viral Creativity

The gala felt more like a creative takeover than a standard industry event. By ditching the stuffy black-tie formality, the night leaned into the chaotic energy of the work that actually breaks the internet. The room was buzzing with meme-inspired decor and a crowd that fully committed to the bit.

Costumes ranged from “Main Character” name tags and 70s-era Dolly Parton looks to those roaming inflatable dinosaurs. Even with a more intimate turnout this year, the engagement stayed incredibly high. From the high-stakes raffle for a 75-inch TV to the “Dolly the Sheep” lore that saw a $600 prize go to a lucky winner, the night proved the local marketing community knows how to celebrate with humor.

Noble Studios: Golden Main Character Energy

Noble Studios earned four major awards for two campaigns that changed how travelers connect with Nevada and Lake Tahoe.

A marketing one-sheet for the Visit Lake Tahoe "Rules to Lake By" campaign featuring vibrant, playful illustrations by Hannah Eddy. The page outlines the campaign's five sustainability rules and lists key results, such as a 63% higher social click-through rate and a 39% reduction in visitation to over-touristed areas.

Awards: Judge’s Choice and Gold ADDY (Consumer Campaign)

This project fundamentally shifted the goal of destination marketing from simple promotion to active stewardship. Instead of just telling people to visit, the campaign focused on teaching them how to protect the fragile Lake Tahoe ecosystem once they arrived.

By partnering with local artist Hannah Eddy, we used whimsical illustrations to transform environmental guidelines into an inviting lifestyle brand. The work stood out because it avoided the typical preachy tone of sustainability messaging, instead making responsible travel feel like a natural part of the Tahoe experience.

A marketing one-sheet for the Travel Nevada x DESO collaboration titled "Get a Little Out There." It displays colorful, custom-illustrated patches for Nevada towns like Baker and Winnemucca, campaign results including 2 million impressions and $8.7k in sales, and photos of the adventure-ready apparel collection.

Awards: Best of Show: Cross Platform and Gold ADDY (Consumer Campaign)

To spark genuine curiosity about the rural heart of Nevada, we helped Travel Nevada bridge the gap between tourism and high-end retail through a partnership with Reno apparel brand DESO.

This campaign moved beyond traditional digital ads by creating “wearable art” that featured custom illustrations of remote towns like Jarbidge and Goldfield.

It earned Best of Show for its seamless blend of product design, influencer storytelling and community impact. By turning the state’s most isolated locations into a tangible fashion statement, the campaign successfully reached a younger, adventure-seeking audience while directly supporting conservation efforts through the Great Basin Institute.

Moving Toward Regionals

The ADDYs are a unique industry competition that honors the craft of advertising. Winning at the local level in Reno means these Gold-winning projects and the Best of Show entry will now move to the District 14 competition. There, they will compete against work from San Francisco and across Northern California.

We’re thankful to the AAF Reno Chapter for hosting the event and our fellow agencies for always keeping the standards high. Most of all, we thank our partners at Travel Nevada, Visit Lake Tahoe and DESO. Your trust makes this work possible.
