5 Digital Marketing Trends for 2019
As the digital marketing industry evolves, so must you. Our rallying cry at Noble Studios is “Let’s be better every day!” so our team has spent a substantial amount of time researching digital marketing trends for 2019 to make sure our clients remain at the forefront. In the coming year, we are encouraging clients to focus on improving the customer experience through custom, conversational, personalized content, which will come to fruition in a variety of ways.
We’ll be talking all about the digital marketing trends for 2019 at this year’s NCET State of Digital Marketing event on Nov. 28, 2018. Our very own Chief Marketing Officer Michael Thomas will sit on a panel alongside industry experts to discuss the future of digital marketing and we hope to see you there.
Until then, get prepped for the exciting discussions with our take on these five digital marketing trends for 2019:
1. AI is only getting smarter (and being used more frequently).
Artificial intelligence (AI) is informing brands about the buying habits of their customers. Software is getting better at modeling how customers find your products and interact with your brand. From CRO (conversion rate optimization), PPC (pay per click) ads and AI-powered content creation, artificial intelligence is learning how to better engage with a company’s audience. AI can identify customers that are ready to leave for a competitor, too. Implement some form of AI into your strategy for 2019; you’ll thank us later.
2. Image search, voice search and voice assistants.
Image search allows users to upload a photo of a product, book, landmark, painting or business card to learn more about it. This, coupled with voice search, makes it clear companies need new strategies to embrace this technology. Errors made by voice assistants (Alexa, Siri, etc.) are greatly reduced by AI. Does your digital strategy include conversational content?
3. Say ‘hello’ to chatbots.
Friendly, quick to answer and built with the uncanny ability to never lose patience, chatbots are changing the way customers interact with brands. These virtual assistants are AI-informed, chat in real time day or night, and many customers prefer these interactions. If your company handles many FAQs on the daily, introducing a chatbot could increase customer satisfaction.
4. Video isn’t going away.
Video is going live, becoming more search friendly (thanks again, AI) and immersive. Video is used for marketing, IT, internal communications, customer service, HR and more. Think about how your company can start using video creatively in the early months of 2019.
5. Cyber security is of the utmost concern.
Data breaches for companies are at an all-time high. Creating a safe space for customers to interact, purchase products and share personal information is critical. Following the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), around 80 percent of multinational companies could fail to comply with GDPR if they do not understand modern data protection regulations. Study up and ensure you’re in compliance before 2019 kicks off.
Be sure to join us at NCET’s 3rd Annual State of Digital Marketing event on Nov. 28, 2018 at the Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa to hear about these digital marketing trends in more detail. This panel discussion will feature our Chief Marketing Officer Michael Thomas alongside industry experts like Abbi Whitaker, co-founder of the Abbi Agency, and Jennifer Cunningham, executive vice president of Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (RSCVA).
